Growing up so fast...

This amazing and beautiful child of mine didn't start out on her side. I put her on her back and she rolled onto her side all on her own. I suppose I should start preparing myself for when she asks for car keys. That'll be next week, at this rate!

THAT'S patience!

Bert, our oddest cat, and she really is VERY odd, puts up with Rowan using her as a foot rest. Is it possible poor Bertie-Bert was spared the random sharp kicks this growing, stretching, ever more active can (and does) deliver? No, she was NOT spared. Did she stay calm and patient with this bizarre, hairless, spastic, sqealing creature? Yes. Yes, she did. And she did so purring all the while. What a good cat.

"...gonna smile?" And she did. Then she puked a little. Then she puked a little more. We changed her clothes, cuz we kinda needed to at that point, and that's when she REALLY let loose with the giggles. All in all, a good afternoon!

So utterly charming. It makes me wonder what babies dream of. It could also simply signify her comfort being in her daddy's arms, which is no small thing. I'm so grateful this lovely little being is so content.

This was the most prominent feature of The Machine Project's show at Spaces Gallery. What a blast! Children were running up, then sliding back down. I watched one dad roll down the sofas! As I was leaving, I overheard a conversation about the ages of the various sofas. "Energized" is an understatement for the night!

On bath days, we go from zero to screaming in about 0.8 seconds. But it's all smiles and giggles again when it's time for a new diaper! No wonder: who doesn't love a clean bottom? (Actually, if you know someone who really doesn't, please keep it to yourself...)

Oh, Cleopatra...

Poor puppy. When the baby's around, she's fiercely protective. Baby-free moments, however, and she's needy and a little jealous of all the attention Rowan gets. I need to find a better balance to accomodate my most faithful friend.
